Teltek Gets A Shout Out From Enoch Office Equipment!

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

Teltek is good at many things. When it comes to IT Support and telecommunications, we have you covered! However, no one is an expert at everything and that is why we rely on our strategic partners to provide those services our customers need that our outside of our areas of expertise. Part of our Total Care Assurance plan is to recommend companies we know and trust to give your business everything it needs.

One of our valued and well-respected strategic partners is Enoch Office Equipment! Our relationship with Enoch is fairly extensive. We have a printer/scanner/copier in our Baltimore office that is maintained and serviced by Enoch and they were also a sponsor of our 2012 Margarita Party!

In addition to providing top of the line office equipment and outstanding service, they have great people who we love working with. Check out the awesome team spirit Rick Donovan and Amy DiStefano of Enoch displayed when we asked them to participate in the pirate theme of our Margarita Party:

Seriously, how can you not want to work with these people?

Late last week, we were featured on Enoch’s web site as a strategic partner of theirs and you can read that article here. Thanks very much Enoch! Teltek appreciates your support and confidence in us.

Power Savers

Thursday, February 7th, 2013

This time of year we are all especially vulnerable to ice and snow storms and the havoc they can create. Heavy snow and ice coatings can drag down power lines and lead to the loss of electricity to your business.

If you have the proper measures in place, you can avoid or mitigate the damage or chaos that can result from power loss.

Here are a few tips:

*Make sure your electronic equipment is plugged into a battery back up unit or UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). A UPS does not last forever and should be replaced every two to three years to make sure it is effectively doing its job.

When a UPS is coming to the end of its life, the LED lights on the front, which are green or yellow when functioning optimally, will turn red or orange. This is a good time to replace your UPS, before it stops working. Surge protectors should be replaced every every two to three years as well.

*Your phone system, data switches and routers should be on a UPS and a surge protector and grounded.

*It’s a good idea to proactively unplug your devices before a storm arrives when a significant event is predicted.

*If your office is located in a high risk area for lighting, you should consider installing a Central Office (CO) surge protector – this protects the incoming phone lines from passing a surge through to your telephone system if struck.

*The location of your electronic devices is also critical. Make sure they are installed in a data rack or at a minimum, not sitting directly on the floor. You should avoid placing any electronics in locations where water pipes, faucets and hot water heaters are within close proximity.

*Finally, check the roof of your building. Look for holes or gaps in it. Also take note of any large tree brances that hang over it. These could become problematic.

For more tips on how to keep the power on in your business, call Teltek! For no charge, we can perform a site survey and make recommendations for improving the safety and reliability of your devices. If you do lose power and have trouble getting everything back on line, we can help with that too. Disaster recovery is part of our Total Care Assurance plan and something we specialize in. Teltek wants you to be safe and Power On!

What Exactly Is Total Care Assurance?

Friday, February 17th, 2012

Teltek’s new IT Service offerings are part of the package we like to call Total Care Assurance. We thought it would be helpful to define what it means to Teltek so there’s no ambiguity about it.

Total Care Assurance is one-stop technology support for the systems your office relies upon to stay in contact with co-workers, clients and your strategic partners. It’s a multi-system approach that includes your phone systemcabling, voice & data carriers, network support, disaster recovery, etc.

This graphic displayed on our Total Care Assurance page sums it up best:

Teltek IT Services is at the center with all of the systems it supports radiating out. Think of it like this; Teltek is the sun and the various aspects of your technology are the planets. Does it make sense to leave the solar system for tech support? Not if it’s available locally and delivers consistent and expert upgrades and repairs with stellar customer service!

Our process begins with an in-depth analysis of your existing technology, future business plans and budget. Then we determine how frequently your business should have an onsite preventive maintenance visit. Next, primary and secondary technicians and project managers are assigned to you and we document the details of your network, settings and preferences. Finally, all systems and software are upgraded to a manageable level and your ongoing support begins.

Trust Teltek to manage all of your technology to eliminate confusion and save time and energy. For a free consultation, contact Teltek IT Services today!
